Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F
2.This quiche recipe starts with a refrigerated pie dough but you can speed things up with a pre-bake shell. If you use unbaked dough, you will want to prick the dough with a fork all over once it’s in a pie dish and partially bake it
3. Prick the bottom of the pie crust with the fork.
Transfer the pie crust to your preheated oven at 350° and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until par -baked.
4. Meanwhile in a large mixing bowl combine eggs with your spinach or greens of choice milk and other vegetable ingredients including spices and mix well.
6. Pour mixture into the par-baked pie crust after it has cooled
7. In a small bowl combine all vegan cheeses.
8. Dollop the vegan cream cheese all around and top and sprinkle vegan cheese shreds on top of quiche. Place tomatoes on top of the quiche.
9. You may place foil on the edges of the crust to prevent them from burning. (Pro-Tip)
10. Place quiche on a cookie sheet and bake on the middle rack of the oven for 50 to 55 minutes or until top is brown and a knife inserted in center comes out clean.
11.Let cool before serving.

Quiche Variations:

For a low-carb option you can omit the piecrust and add more eggs and filling, spray the pie dish with cooking spray before adding the eggs. You can add a few cooked chicken sausages , meat subsitute
or any proteins of your choice.

           The Immune System

is the body’s defense against a wide variety of infections, such as bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic, as well as illnesses, such as tumor cells. It includes the lymph nodes, the spleen, bone marrow and white blood cells among others. The role of the immune system is a collection of structures and processes within the body — is to protect against disease or other potentially damaging foreign bodies.

When functioning properly the immune system can identify a variety of threats, such as and including viruses, bacteria and parasites, and distinguishes them from the body's own healthy tissue. There are many disorders that can compromise the immune system
Which can result in autoimmune diseases, inflammatory diseases and cancer

Here we are... back here again, renewing or refreshing what we started. Isn't that what life is? Starting, stopping reconfiguring what, whom is important to us. What I've learned is that what should matter most is you. We spend our lives reshaping ourselves to fit into peoples boxes. When in reality we should be making sure we are comfortable with ourselves and what that looks like will always be a moving target, my advice give yourself grace. With that being said we are so excited to be back we have some surprises in store, we were busily working away so damnit enjoy the ride.

In spring, the garden is a feast of blossom!

         Spring;
The season after winter and before summer, in which vegetation begins to appear.
The race for paradise

Who doesn’t love spring, it is always exciting mixed with a bit of urgency to get busy.
I am in the process of preparing my spring line up for the final time deciding on what berries to plant and what types of greens and what medicinal herbs will be added for our spring garden. ( The things that excite me )

Well for starts my son and his girlfriend just came back from Hawaii and brought us back some really nice seeds and cuttings. Starting with Hawaiian chili pepper seeds, Liliuokalani-Passion Fruit seeds and one of my favorite Hawaiian Papaya seeds.

I am going to plant them in pots for the next six weeks indoors, in the greenhouse tent and take them out daily for about a hour so when I transplant them outdoors into there pots, I won’t have to harden them off.

My plans for them will all be apart of my backyard patio garden.
as for the flowers, I am going to plant the Hawaiian Plumeria in a planter on my front patio as a accent.( fancy huh? I know )
My to do list is still far from being complete there are some many ideas I would like to implement but we shall see how my spring line up goes first.
As far as my garden is concerned I will definitely add more stinging nettle, it did well in the garden last spring but didn’t make it thru the frost when all else fails try again.
I am also planting Oca tubers and Yacons it is my hope the do well, fingers crossed.
This year we are planting more Asian greens, they are more hardy and resistant to beetles and worms. My husband and I have already been seeding the garden beds with wildflowers, Echinacea purple cone flowers, Comos, and Black Eye Susan’s.
We love the pollinators and beneficial insects, we just introduced our first casing of praying mantis in the beds as well as ladybugs. This spring time I am trying to be a little more proactive and release our beneficial bugs in the beds while there are still plenty of flowers, weeds, and vegetation so the eggs can hatch and we will have a second generation already in place.
Spring and summer creates a explosion of abundance including pests so I feel I really want to get ahead of the game by putting the workers in place. Our worm farm is in full force to help make worm castings. If your going to do it, right now is the time to get prepared a little everyday.
The best part about springtime is daylight saving time in my opinion, and I'm over the moon about it, it gives me a bit of a edge to get things done.
I am celebrating , it is the season for rebirth and bringing forth new life. I think the world is looking for this refreshing, in our mind body and spirit and soul.

Whatever that is on your list for spring, always remember to laugh, love and pray. We got this; “We get another chance to smell the flowers.”

So I really want to tame my sweet tooth, lately I have been all about the baking such as vegan delights that are guilt free, full of vegetables and fruits and nothing but the best grains.
I truly struggle between the dark and light when it comes to certain foods.
What I have realized is that, if I can tame the crave before it starts then my vampire tendencies are subdued and voile I return to a normal human for the most part.

I am definitely putting my priorities in order to make nutritious breakfast smoothies that include lots of good fatty nuts for my protein source and of course add my delicious muffins for a healthy carbohydrate, which makes me feel full and satisfied.

As a matter of fact I actually feel as though I am eating something that I shouldn’t have, which makes it all the better if you know what I mean (lol).
It has been very enjoyable for me and my husband to take our morning walk out in our garden to collect kale, broccoli leaves, mustard's and chard and eat them raw as we are picking them, here’s the bonus adding to our morning smoothie.

I am getting super excited that spring is around the corner and just 29 days away.

The count down has started with our plans to resurrect our garden which I'm over the moon about this is my favorite time of year, the trees budding, birds chirping and everything growing lol. Can you say fantasy?
I think it’s time to go sweeten the deal with a few healthy treats off I go marching to see my nana babies to bring them all the muffins they can eat.

I truly have been on a journey I must say, hoorray the evil hitchhiker has officially been given the boot!
According to my retest I was negative as of Monday January 25th and could not be more thrilled to say that but more importantly feel that, as we have lost so many to Covid.

Yes! I have been to the moon and back, now once again I get to hug my husband and my grandchildren.

Yes! I still continue to take every precaution like I was doing prior to the evasion and I am even doubling up on my mask . It just feels really good to be back and to know that it was worth it to practice what I preach.

To live over 30 years practicing herbalism and having to heal your self when the whole world is in the same condition is traumatic to say the least.

My faith has grown even stronger and I will continue to speak life over myself and my family, really anyone I meet. I will continue to use my herbal formulas on rotation for an extra boost to my whole body regardless of the negative test I will stay diligent to the things that got me through. Olive Leaf, Mullein, Elderberry and HWLD - Halness formula all antiviral , antibacterial and inflammatory for protection. (I provided a link below for HWLD GRND , the other items you can purchase at most supermarkets.)

Reminding myself to get my rest and most importantly stay hydrated, I believe that along with my other list of herbs it helped save me from a dreaded hospital visit or worse.

As I said in this week on our YouTube Vlog, I don’t know what I would have done without my faith and prayers from my inner circle, I am and will always be grateful for my family connections and my herbal apothecary which is always ready to go.

The days are cold and grey and I feel all fuzzy inside. I mean this weather just makes you want to curl ul under a blanket and watch the notebook BUT it also brings along the sniffles. Here is the recipe for my onion tea not only is it great for building the immune system it also tastes good too. I mean like who doesnt like being healthy and having a party in their mouth at the same time. I would say thats a win, win! Luckily I grow most of the ingredients in my garden so its a quick trip outside. However all the ingredients are super easy to find in the grocery store as well.

               1 stalk of lemongrass
3 inches of ginger (chopped)
1 teaspoon honey I use Manuka you can replace with plant-based sweetener of your choice
If your feeling fancy you can add cloves or star anise ( make sure your purchase star anise from a reputable grocer )

Instructions

Add water to a large pot over low heat. Cut the limes, red apple (remove seeds from apples ) and onion into four equal parts. (leave skin on the onion) Wash the lemongrass and peel its outermost skin.
Squeeze lime juice into the water before adding all the ingredients to the pot.
Set the heat to medium-low and let it boil slowly for 10-15 minutes. Let simmer for another 15-20 minutes (the longer, the better) I slow simmer until the apples are brown and sink to the bottom.
Strain and sweeten

Voila! Your rolling, rolling on a river ! ( Hey Tina )

Oh Monday! My least favorite day as Steven always says "stop saying that , its a mindset Monday is no different then any other day" (insert eye roll here) with that being said I started my "real fitness journey this morning at 6:30 a.m with no coffee, no pep talk nothing just sheer delusion, hope and a prayer.

When I tell you during my workout there was a moment when my soul came out my body did the Harlem shake and hopped back in. Whew!

I'm tired but energized this feeling comes back to me before kids, before when it was just me to worry about things were a tad bit easier when It was just me, myself and I . But in this same moment I take a look at the other side my littles are watching me. Journey started doing jumping jacks saying go mom working out beside me, Jax is in between doing some type of downward dog motion and roll with the I'm just happy to be here face so that's encouraging. What I'm saying is yes you will be tired and yes it will hurt damn it but the reward is much greater. Off to feed my house before they turn into gremlins then it will really be f@$k Monday.

Well that’s it, everything I was experiencing was true to what I expected I tested positive for covid...

I showed symptoms on January 5, tested on January 8th and got back positive results on Tuesday January 12th, I was happy about one thing that I had experienced a fever for only one day.

The onset of coughing and feeling of low energy set in on me.

Then on Monday I loss my sense of smell, the most frightening feeling was not having the ability to be able to breathe at night.

I was truly into my most deepest herbal pockets, more than I had ever been in a very long time. I was eating fresh greens from my garden, making juices daily, sitting in the fresh air and sunlight to get a little extra vitamin D it couldn’t hurt I thought but to my surprise,

please believe every bit of the hype!

Covid is a ratchet monster that will seek every opportunity to quickly take your faith and mental health along with your physical health on a roller coaster ride more than you couldn’t possibly prepare for.

I have had some good days and some terrible nights, this is where the demon has tried to challenge me when I am the most tired and alone. Please surround yourself with good positive people , your family, books, music and shows that lift you up in spirit.

Covid reminds me of when satan trying to get into your head and help you into thinking of negative outcomes while feeling the worst. I was tempted not to reach out, and not tell my family how I was truly feeling , every night I had been wrestling with the evil of not being able to breathe.

I do check my oxygen levels nightly and they are still good, but anxiety has tried to hang out with me every night. So I have decided to evict anxiety today, and swap in family.

I am thankful for my beautiful family, this was the best medicine I have received since acquiring this evil hitch hiker. Let it be said that your psychological state of mind has a lot to do with your healing process also.

I would advise anyone that has picked up this unwanted evil hitch hiker, to consult with your love ones isolation is what it feeds off and fear then can take its gripe on you.

Seek a doctor that can at least give you a opportunity to evaluate your protocol and make sure you are on track, and most of all know you are not alone. This is my new road less traveled but I plan on keeping it free from the clutter of negativity and choosing to spend more time on the road of love and laughter.

A merry heart does a body good, and family rules.

Currently in under construction mode working thru my energy during this winter solstice, finding myself in a roller coaster of moods.

When you think about this current space its dark, and your doing root work, strengthening, nurturing, being still in this space. It makes you think of places you have been, places you would like to go. If you could swallow the salty beach air or feel the heaviness of humidity while making your way thru the jungle, feeling the crispness of mountain snow on your lips. Covid has changed the landscape of things for us all, leaving us to long for days of the past. Lets all try to think toward the brightness of whats to come. If not for faith and hope what do we have? There is a season for everything,be still in this season for the next is soon awaiting.

We humans have lost the wisdom of genuinely resting and relaxing. We worry too much. We don't allow our bodies to heal, and we don't allow our minds and hearts to heal

Yes, I am very excited about 2021 but who knew that I had to hit the breaks one week into the month I am dealing with leftovers yes the stress of lack from 2020.

Having to deal with my own health issues in the very first week of January, dropping off the high energy cycle that has not stopped helping everyone but not putting in enough time with me is how it began.

Well it has now definitely caused me to pause, with that being said the realization of not being able to do anything but focus on my own health is another lesson within itself.

As my body is healing I find myself spending more time in prayer and meditation, focusing truly on who and what is most valuable to me.

I am taking time to feed myself with nourishing alkaline soups and fresh juices and teas, reminding myself to hydrate, take vitamins/minerals and lay down even if I don’t sleep.

I am every so grateful for the months prior that I made all of the wonderful tinctures and stored them away for such a time as this.

Rest and restoration is needed for me, it is a reminder if you really want to accomplish anything no matter what the reason is, if you neglect self-care what was it all worth?

Welp! 2020 was a roller coaster and a very stressful year with Covid being at the forefront of all things. I am grateful and excited to begin a new year starting with a new foundation, I want to share a few self-help tips I learned from my gardening experiences.
First things first , you can’t grow anything without good soil and you can’t have good soil without a steady supply of nutrients. As I'm nourishing my garden during these winter months, I’m also speaking in tandem using the same gardening practices and I'm applying them to my life.

Taking care of your overall health and putting it at the top of the charts is truly important. So, I am starting this year with the intent of a healthy, mind, body and spirit.
It doesn’t take a lot of money but it does require an investment of my time. Think about the times you said to yourself I wish I had or I wish I could, let’s change that to a simple I am and remember you are the foundation and this is your new beginning.

Eh! Sounds kind of cliché. But the idea is a great one. I mean who doesn't like new things the problem is the expectation. We set ourselves up for failure when making plans of nutrition, exercise, and self-care without factoring in our everyday reality. Some days are going to be A days , you will work out, give yourself a mask, eat clean hey you might even throw in an affirmation. There will also be average days you will start off strong, between work, a never ending to do list you grab fast food, throw some chocolate in the mix, plan to work out but that idea fizzles off towards the end of the day. Then there's the days will you completely fall off into the deep end of nothingness, the day was ahead of you before you even started. Everyone is fed and happy including the dog except you, while you managed to eat 3 Doritos and a bag of your kids fruit snacks. Your just happy to end the day with a glass of wine. Let me just say this give yourself grace, we are not superhero's even though we move throughout our days as if we are. Juggling everything that life throws at us just to get up and do it all again. This year let's say its okay to get 5 squats in the kitchen, its okay to screw up your meal plan at lunch, redeem yourself at dinner, sometimes self-care is sitting on the toilet in the dark with complete silence. Whatever you need to do to catch YOUR breath DO IT! And by all means do it unapol

I was raised by a women who wore dual faces all the time; she was whimsical and raw, fragile and fortified maybe that's how she had to be raising 2 children on her own. As matter of fact I'm sure of it as its hard even with two parents trying to define your identity while shaping your kids. One thing I do reflect on is how magical she made everyday feel for my brother and I, I find myself trying to mimic that with my children. Our household was always full of laughter, music, and dancing but most importantly heavy on the love, herbal juices, tonics, anything that was said to be healthy well we probably tried it. As my friends liked to call my mom God's solider that also happened to be a hippie. So then there's me wife and mother of two, I'm my mom mixed with a little bit of rock and roll. I live for a good time, great food, travel and all things beautiful. I've traveled the world, I got to see a lot of captivating places and meet some amazing people. I worked in the music industry for a number of years, trading in the fast life for the simple which is where I find my peace. I think it was one of the best decisions I ever made well maybe not the best but on my top 10 list of best decisions . I'm big on making moments, creating memories along the way and that alone drives a few people crazy. So here we are, her and I meeting in the middle of farm life and jet setting, green juice and champagne, kimchi and caviar trying to find balance in this crazy thing called life.
I refer to this era as a new dimension which gave hope and awareness for future possibilities for your life with purpose.

Reflecting back there wasn’t too many things that I couldn’t achieve, I had virtually no fear and intimidation wasn’t a part of my being. When your young you really do feel invincible,

well to say the least I was emphatic on making the best life after being married and then divorced for my two children.

I wanted to be there for them regardless of my career choice so I quit college and I was determined to find away to instill what I knew was important to me as a parent.

My motto will always be from the Bible my source of hope and inspiration. Proverbs 22:6 Train Up The Child In The Way They Should Go, And When They Are Old They Will Not Depart From It.

Well 3 decades later that part of me still exists but I am the seed that fell to the ground so that I could bear forth much fruit. The instinctive love of my offspring gave me such amazing view being a parent and owner of a preschool, I grew and traveled around the world a million times thru telling stories I became a published author of children’s books thru nature and caring for sick children, I became a herbalist. Now thru my time traveling I get to share my love with my daughter. In this new season of life, It is now her time to shine and my time to discover more about the things that make me happy.

Let us begin with my love of all things herbs,
